Youth in Agriculture Mentorship Day

Showcasing Innovations for Sustainable Agriculture

Youth in Agriculture Summit

On 9th May 2025, TSNP grounds will be the center of an inspiring movement as the Siaya County College and University Students Association (SICOCUSA) collaborates with the us to host YOUTH IN AGRICULTURE—a dynamic mentorship event focused on equipping young people with climate-resilient, innovative agricultural skills.

This event comes at a crucial time when food security and sustainable agricultural practices are gaining global attention. With climate change posing unprecedented challenges to farming, Kenyan youth must step forward as the new generation of agricultural innovators. The mentorship program will provide insights into modern and adaptive farming techniques that maximize productivity while protecting the environment.

A key highlight will be the presence of the esteemed Chief Guest, Ms. Charlene Ruto, Kenya’s National Youth Climate Champion. Ms. Ruto’s commitment to climate action has seen her engage in various youth empowerment initiatives, and her address will emphasize the role of young farmers in adopting sustainable agricultural practices. She will inspire attendees to view agriculture not just as a traditional livelihood but as a powerful tool for economic growth, environmental conservation, and technological advancement.

The event will feature a variety of activities, including:

  • Expert-led workshops on climate-smart farming, agribusiness innovation, and value-added production.

  • Panel discussions where agricultural experts, policymakers, and entrepreneurs will engage with aspiring agripreneurs on sustainable food production.

  • Networking sessions designed to connect young agripreneurs, fostering collaboration and opportunities for growth.

By engaging in these conversations, young people will gain critical knowledge and practical skills to drive a revolution in climate-conscious agriculture. Whether it’s hydroponics, regenerative farming, or agritech solutions, the mentorship event will challenge conventional approaches and introduce strategies that can ensure food security in Kenya for generations to come.

For youth passionate about sustainability, agribusiness, or environmental stewardship, YOUTH IN AGRICULTURE is an unmissable opportunity. It’s not just an event—it’s a movement toward a greener, more food-secure future powered by the innovation and resilience of Kenya’s youth.
