TVET Skills Competition 2025

The Nyangoma Technical Training Institute for the Deaf in Bondo recently hosted a vibrant and inclusive TVET Skills Competition, drawing institutions from across the region to showcase innovation, craftsmanship, and technical excellence. This landmark event celebrated the power of vocational education and the transformative impact of skills development, especially among youth and persons with disabilities.

Participating institutions engaged in a variety of skill-based challenges, including electrical installation, fashion and design, carpentry, ICT, and welding. The competition not only highlighted technical prowess but also encouraged creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving — essential traits for today’s evolving job market.

Among the standout performers was The Siaya National Polytechnic, which clinched top honors in several categories. Their students impressed judges with their precision in electrical installation, innovation in ICT networking, and flair in fashion and design. These wins underscore TSNP’s commitment to excellence and its role as a regional leader in vocational training.

The event also served as a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and promoting inclusivity in technical education. By hosting the competition at a specialized institution for the deaf, organizers reinforced the message that skills development should be accessible to all.

As the region continues to invest in TVET, events like this inspire institutions to raise their standards and empower students to become future-ready professionals. Congratulations to all participants — and especially to TSNP for our outstanding achievements.
