Cultural/Peer Educators Week

Theme: One Peer, One Voice, One Positive Impact

PEER/CULTURAL WEEK

TSNP Marks a Memorable Peer Counsellors and Culture Week

TSNP came alive with energy, colour, and purpose on 23rd–24th June 2026, as students, staff, and partners came together for this year’s Peer Counsellors and Culture Week, held under the inspiring theme “One Peer, One Voice, One Positive Impact.”

Over the two days, the polytechnic transformed into a vibrant space for learning, self-expression, and connection, proving that culture and counselling, when brought together, can spark real change in the lives of young people.

Sensitization with a Purpose

At the heart of the week was the institution’s dedicated team of peer counsellors, who led candid, student-to-student conversations on some of the most pressing issues facing young people today. Sessions covered:

  • Drug and substance abuse — understanding the risks and building resilience to resist pressure
  • Peer pressure — recognizing it, naming it, and responding to it with confidence
  • Safe sex practices — promoting informed, responsible choices around sexual health
  • Youth empowerment — equipping trainees with the mindset and tools to take charge of their futures

What made these sessions powerful was the format itself: peers speaking to peers. There’s a unique kind of trust and honesty that happens when a message comes from someone who understands the lived experience of being a young trainee — and TSNP’s peer counsellors delivered exactly that.

Culture, Talent, and Celebration

Beyond the sensitization sessions, the week burst into a full celebration of youth culture and creativity. Highlights included:

  • Fashion shows that let students showcase identity, confidence, and style
  • Talent shows spotlighting the polytechnic’s hidden gems in music, comedy, spoken word, and more
  • Dance performances that brought energy and unity to the campus grounds
  • Photo sessions capturing memories that will be looked back on for years to come

Together, these activities reminded everyone that wellbeing isn’t only about addressing challenges — it’s also about creating joyful spaces where young people can express themselves freely and feel a genuine sense of belonging.

A Week Built on Partnership

None of this would have been possible without the generous support of our partners, stakeholders, and well-wishers who believed in this initiative and walked the journey with us. TSNP extends its heartfelt gratitude to every organization, department, and individual who contributed — whether through resources, expertise, time, or encouragement — to make the 2026 Peer Counsellors and Culture Week a resounding success.

Your support continues to affirm that when institutions, partners, and communities work hand in hand, young people don’t just receive information — they receive hope, direction, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Carrying the Message Forward

As the dust settles on another successful Peer Counsellors and Culture Week, the message of “One Peer, One Voice, One Positive Impact” lives on in every conversation, every choice, and every act of courage that began with someone simply listening.

We remain committed to nurturing not just skilled technicians and professionals, but well-rounded, empowered young people ready to make a positive mark on their communities.
