Officials from the State Department for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (SDTVET) paid a courtesy and inspection visit to The Siaya National Polytechnic (TSNP) to assess the completed Building and Civil Engineering Complex project.
The delegation, led by the Regional Director SDTVET for Kisumu and Siaya Counties, toured the project site to evaluate progress, review workmanship, and engage with the technical teams on the ground.
The team was received by the Chief Principal, who welcomed the dignitaries and took them through a comprehensive walkthrough of the institution’s ongoing infrastructure developments. In his remarks, the Chief Principal appreciated the continued support from the national government in upgrading the polytechnic’s infrastructure, noting that such investments are central to strengthening the quality and capacity of technical training offered at TSNP.
Speaking during the visit, the Regional Director SDTVET commended the pace and quality of work observed at the site, stating:
“We are impressed by the progress made on this project. Infrastructure of this nature is critical in expanding access to quality technical training, and it directly supports the government’s agenda of equipping our youth with practical, industry-relevant skills. We will continue to walk with TSNP and other institutions in this region to ensure that such projects are completed to the highest standard and put to good use.”
The Building and Civil Engineering project is expected to significantly boost TSNP’s training capacity by providing modern, well-equipped learning spaces for trainees pursuing courses in the built environment field. Once completed, the facility will enhance hands-on skills training and align the institution’s offerings with industry standards.
The Chief Principal reaffirmed the polytechnic’s commitment to prudent utilization of the resources allocated, assuring the delegation that the project would be completed within the stipulated timelines and to the required standards.
TSNP management thanked the SDTVET team for their continued oversight and support, and looks forward to more collaborative engagements aimed at growing the polytechnic’s infrastructure and training capacity.
