DEATH AND FUNERAL ANNOUNCEMENT

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Omondi E. Daniel, the Deputy Principal – Administration, Planning and Development, who peacefully went to be with the Lord on 14th April 2026, following a long and bravely endured illness.

Mr. Omondi E. Daniel was a dedicated servant of the Polytechnic, a principled administrator, and a leader of great conviction whose contribution to the growth and stability of the Polytechnic will remain memorable. His passing is a significant loss not only to the polytechnic but also to the wider education fraternity.

Throughout his service, he was widely respected as a firm disciplinarian who strongly believed in integrity, accountability, and ethical service delivery. He consistently upheld high standards of professionalism, transparency, and fairness in administration, planning, and development. His leadership played a key role in strengthening institutional systems and fostering a culture of responsibility and excellence.

Beyond his official duties, Mr. Omondi was a mentor and source of guidance to many members of staff. His calm demeanor, sound judgment, and unwavering commitment to duty earned him admiration and respect across all departments.

He was married to Mrs. Ruth Awino Omondi and they were blessed with three children; Joan Marlene Wendo, Emmanuel Mugenya and Bill Christian Ng’ong’a, his grandchildren are Jasmin Edwards, Jannel Imani and Jordan Malik.

Official Institutional Condolence Message

On behalf of the Management, Staff, Students, and the entire fraternity of The Siaya National Polytechnic, the Chief Principal conveys heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. Omondi E. Daniel:

“The passing of Mr. Omondi E. Daniel is a great loss to The Siaya National Polytechnic. He served this institution with dedication, integrity, and selflessness. His leadership, discipline, and commitment to ethical service delivery greatly contributed to the stability and growth of the Polytechnic. We mourn a dependable administrator, a mentor, and a valued colleague. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult moment. May the Lord grant them strength, comfort, and peace.”

As we mourn his departure, we take comfort in the assurance of our faith and in the legacy he leaves behind—a legacy of disciplined leadership, integrity in service, and devotion to institutional development.

We extend our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives he touched. May God grant comfort to all who grieve this loss.

Schedule of Events:

  1. The body leaves Avenue  Hospital Mortuary, Kisumu on Saturday 2nd May 2026 for his home in Ugunja sub county- Rang’ala sub-location, Ugolwe Village.
  2. Final burial rites will take place on Sunday 3rd May 2026 at his rural home
