4th Internal Knowledge Management Conference

20th to 21st May 2026

Internal Knowledge Management Conference

TSNP organized the 4th Internal Knowledge Management Conference between 20th and 21st May 2026 brining together its top management and members of staff — a biennial platform that continues to strengthen institutional cohesion, policy awareness, and professional development across all departments.

The two-day conference was officially opened by the Chief Principal, who in his brief remarks underscored the importance of continuous learning within the institution. He challenged staff to embrace the conference as more than a routine event, but as a catalyst for personal growth and collective responsibility in steering the Polytechnic toward its vision and mission.

Key Thematic Areas Covered

Academic Policy — Participants reviewed updates to the institution’s academic guidelines, emphasizing curriculum relevance, quality assurance, and alignment with national TVET standards to ensure learners receive world-class training.

Assessment Framework — Staff were taken through best practices in continuous assessment, examination administration, and moderation processes, reinforcing the need for fairness, consistency, and integrity in evaluating trainee competencies.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Procedure — The RPL session highlighted how the Polytechnic can formally acknowledge skills and knowledge that trainees have acquired outside the classroom, opening wider pathways to certification and inclusion.

Human Resource Procedure Manual — HR policies governing recruitment, staff conduct, leave management, and performance appraisal were discussed, ensuring every employee understands their rights and obligations within the institution.

Anti-Corruption — Staff were sensitized on the dangers of corruption, the institution’s zero-tolerance stance, and the legal frameworks guiding ethical conduct in public institutions, including whistleblower protections.

Digitalization of Government Processes — This session explored the ongoing shift toward e-government services, encouraging staff to champion digital adoption in administrative and academic processes for greater efficiency and transparency.

Cyber Security Awareness — With increased reliance on digital platforms, participants learned about safe online practices, data protection, password hygiene, and how to identify and report potential cyber threats.

Open, Distance and e-Learning (ODeL) — The conference also spotlighted ODeL as a transformative mode of delivery, equipping staff with knowledge on how to support remote learners and integrate flexible learning models into the Polytechnic’s programmes.

The 4th Internal Knowledge Management Conference once again proved to be an invaluable investment in the institution’s most important asset — its people. By equipping staff with current knowledge and a shared sense of purpose, TSNP continues to build a workforce that is informed, motivated, and ready to deliver on its promise of quality technical education
