TSNP has taken a bold step towards nurturing a culture of honesty, transparency and accountability among its learners with the official launch of the Integrity Club. The event brought together students, staff and key stakeholders in the fight against corruption, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s commitment to ethics and good governance.
The launch was presided over by the Polytechnic’s Integrity Assurance Officer, Mr. P. Ngesa, who welcomed the initiative as a timely and necessary platform for empowering young people to become champions of integrity within and beyond the institution. In his remarks, Mr. Ngesa emphasized that integrity is not just a personal virtue but a national responsibility, and that TVET institutions have a critical role to play in shaping ethical leaders for the country’s workforce.
The event was graced by representatives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), who took club members through an engaging and informative sensitization session on the fight against corruption. The officers highlighted several key measures and strategies that learners can adopt to prevent, report and fight corruption, including:
The EACC team encouraged club members to see themselves as ambassadors of integrity, not only within the Polytechnic but also in their homes, communities and future workplaces. They urged the students to take personal responsibility in rejecting corruption in all its forms and to actively participate in awareness campaigns that promote ethical values among their peers.
Speaking during the launch, Mr. Ngesa noted that the formation of the Integrity Club aligns with the Polytechnic’s broader institutional governance and quality assurance framework, and reaffirmed TSNP’s commitment to nurturing graduates who are not only technically competent but also ethically grounded.
The launch of the Integrity Club marks the beginning of a series of planned activities, including awareness campaigns, peer-to-peer integrity talks, and collaborative engagements with anti-corruption agencies, aimed at deepening the culture of honesty and accountability among learners at The Siaya National Polytechnic.
TSNP remains committed to working with institutions such as the EACC to build a generation of leaders anchored on integrity, transparency and good governance.
